pickMy goal is to review my #bookspin & #doublespin. This was my audio #doublespin for January. I‘ve seen complaints about this being all over the place, but I loved that. It showed that creativity isn‘t a linear process. He looked at a lot of angles, like collaboration & criticism, and how those things contribute to the creative process. I would say read if you‘re looking to get out of a creative funk. The audio was fantastic.

so-soI wasn't familiar with the author, but learned a lot about him in the audiobook. Interesting, but not earth shattering. I did come away with new knowledge and a few ideas for exploring creativity. Really enjoyed that the audio version includes background music at times for effect!
pick4.5 hours to go for #24in48! And I've finished my first ever audiobook, probably the only thing that's let me get this far. Questlove's narration is extremely listenable.

pickI always pick a word to define my upcoming year- this year I chose 2- Grace and Create. Questlove‘s book is my first read on creativity and it is inspiring. The cover is an image of his own creativity as a Rube Goldberg machine. He is a student of creativity and his book is replete with examples of creativity in others as well as how he has used their experiences to inform his own works. Last year I read about art every Sunday- I now read wider!
pickI don‘t listen to The Roots very much and rarely catch The Tonight Show, but I have become a big fan of Questlove through his books. He‘s super smart and thinks and writes about so many topics with amazing focus and energy. This was full of good thoughts about creativity (some classic, some fresh) and especially great on audiobook - lots of sound effects, music, and fun audio bonuses. 🎧 ❤️
Decided to end 2018 and start 2019 on a positive and creative note- listening to Questlove read this book on creativity- excellent so far!
pickReally enjoyed this. I'm thinking of buying the print book so I can mark it up! This was less a "how to", and more about the higher concepts of creativity. These stories and applications are incredibly smart and made me think.

Brilliant book about creating and creativity. Full of pop culture references and musical insight. As a 64-year-old grandmother, I realize that I am not the target audience. Still, that didn‘t stop me from enjoying this book and soaking up some of the creative inspiration found between its pages. Fun, entertaining and informative!
Almost bought this at the bookstore but opted to use my audiobook credit for it and am so glad I did. This might be the most creatively produced and executed audio I've ever listened to. ❤️❤️
I can‘t wait to start this audiobook next. #TGFL
