Piper is the girl who could fly; Conrad is the boy who knew everything. Max is the boy who has lived forever, and whose yen for "fun" has inspired him to create a Doomsday machine, which destroys anything that relies on technology-computers, satellites, etc. Piper and Conrad barely escaped from his compound in Xanthia, and now he continues to play cat-and-mouse with them as they try to save the world from Doomsday. As Piper, Conrad, and their crew work to convince Max that life is more than destroying everything around him, a new friend appears. Her name is Grace, and she is ill. Max discovers how he can reverse his immortality, and save his friend. But the cost is high, and begs the question: If you live every moment as if it's your last, is one more day enough time to live a full life?
