This novel is set in the four corners region and on the Navajo Nation. The main characters are Lieutenant Joe Leaphorn and Officer Jim Chee. Navajo Police Officer Delbert Nez is killed. While searching for the murderer, lots of corruption is discovered. Leaphorn & Chee won‘t stop until they solve the crime. The Navajo lifestyle is always present and explained to those who desire knowledge of life of Indigenous peoples. 4/5

Results for week 3 - can't believe we are already heading into the final week!! I wasn't sure #Scarathlon2021 was going to be a good fit for me because I am not super into Halloween, but I have genuinely been inspired to read so much this month because of this challenge!! TheAromaofBooks @Crazeedi - Yes!!! I love working there so much. I need to walk back up on Apple Hill & take some pictures - it's a high point of the area & always so pretty this time of year. This pic I just snapped while I was loading the truck last week - I thought the tractor looked so picturesque haha 3y

Book 10 for Leaphorn & Chee and I am so enjoying these!! Last one for a while, though, while I wait for the next five to come in from the library. The title for this one refers to the Navajo tradition of the coyote as the embodiment of an evil spirit, and how that evil waits to take advantage of the unwary all the time. I actually loved that concept so much. Another solid mystery with a great setting.
