Trauma Room Two
Trauma Room Two | Philip Allen Green
3 posts | 4 read | 4 to read
In every hospital emergency department there is a room reserved for trauma. It is a place where life and death are separated by the thinnest of margins. A place where some families celebrate the most improbable of victories while others face the most devastating of losses. A place where what matters the most in this life is revealed. Trauma Room Two is just such a place. In this collection of short stories, Dr. Green takes the reader inside the hidden emotional landscape of emergency medicine. Based on fifteen years of experience as an ER physician, he reveals the profound moments that often occur in emergency rooms for patients, their families, and the staff that work there.

Book 3 for #readingrush. A compilation of short stories from a small-town ER doc. I picked this up because I recently finished my trauma rotation in clinic and wanted to read another perspective. While I enjoyed the stories, I found it to be excessively dramatic and there was a lot of daydreaming about patient‘s lives which I didn‘t love reading about because it took away from the present story. Overall an ok read! #medicine #nonfiction

First look into what life as an ER doctor is like. Thoughtfully written and insightful. I particularly liked how he imagines what his patients lives were like.

Broke my string of cute rom com books with this great one! Short read, with descriptive tales of cases in a rural ER. Love the detail of the patients, making sure to truly show them as PEOPLE not just a diagnosis/prognosis, and the complexities as a physician to treat them in the most humane and compassionate way possible. Highly recommend for those interested in medicine!
