Mirage
Mirage | Clive Cussler, Jack Du Brul
2 posts | 4 read | 1 to read
In October 1943, a U.S. destroyer sailed out of Philadelphia and supposedly vanished, the result of a Navy experiment with electromagnetic radiation. The story was considered a hoax-- but now Juan Cabrillo and his Oregon colleagues aren't so sure. There is talk of a new weapon soon to be auctioned, something very dangerous to America's interests, and the rumors link it to the great inventor Nikola Tesla, who was working with the Navy when he died in 1943. As Cabrillo races to find the truth, he discovers there is even more at stake than he could have imagined--but by the time he realizes it, he may already be too late.

Just started Mirage by Clive Cussler and Jack Du Brul, which is book 9 of the Oregon Files. This was the last one Clive Cussler co-wrote with Jack Du Brul. Do this as part of a Group Read over five days.

Bklover Several years ago I got on a serious Dirk Pitt escapist reading kick! Read them one right after the other until I completely burned out on them. Have never read the Oregon Files. 7y
Andrew65 @Bklover Don‘t think I‘ve read any Dirk Pitt books yet, but he did appear in one of the Oregon Files books. These appear to almost be a spin off of the Dirk Pitt books. Have enjoyed a coup,e of the Fargo Adventure books more. (edited) 7y
Tove_Reads I used to love Cussler‘s books, the Dirk Pitt ones. Then I just stopped reading them? 7y
Andrew65 @Tove_Reads Not my favourite books but enjoyable enough as a read, just feel at times too much and too long action. (edited) 7y
