Bottom line, no, they don‘t. The author discusses the arguments used by gun rights activists then dismantles each argument with philosophical teachings, history, and data. While the philosophy components made me cross my eyes in places (always my response to philosophy), the discussion was quite sound. I‘ve always been anti-gun so I appreciate learning about the pro-gun argument to at least better understand many in my country.
