I've been picking away at th Artists Way and have hit the dreaded week of reading deprivation! ?
Cameron writes "For most blocked creatives, reading is an addiction. We gobble up the words of others rather than digest our own thoughts and feelings, rather than cook up something of our own."
I'm intrigued. I'm nervous. We'll see how it goes. ??

rockpools That‘s so interesting. Good luck! 5y

merelybookish @RachelO @batsy @readordierachel Thanks! It's definitely proving a bit challenging, especially in the car where I normally listen to audiobooks while I commute. 5y

I know from personal experience that prideful perfectionism is toxic!

The book recommended me to have a "date" with my inner artist. I tried it and I ended up drawing this weird thing. I love it though. Good job inner artist!

I did that once. I went to a Toastmaster's meeting to improve myself. Everyone had to give a speech without notes and without any time to practice. I stood in front a large crowd in a quiet room, cried for seven minutes, then walked off the stage. My audience supportively clapped for me, yet I knew they were just being nice. That night I felt really embarrassed, but now when I look back at what I did, I feel rather proud of myself.

AmyRebecca That takes courage to go outside your comfort zone. Thanks for sharing 😊💜 5y

Thank you so much @dariazeoli for this #kindlitsy book. I really enjoyed it, and while I sometimes didn't do the exercises in order and finished faster than recommended, I highly enjoyed this book. It shows how we are all creative and is very uplifting. I enjoyed that it combined creativity with spirituality.

I‘ve been doing morning pages for a long time now, but there‘s nothing that stumps me as much as choosing a new notebook after the high of completing the previous one! I‘ve narrowed it dow to these five this morning. If I don‘t pick one soon, I‘ll have run out of time for writing! ✍️ 🤣 📒
