JapanEasy: Classic and Modern Japanese Recipes to Cook at Home | Tim Anderson
2 posts | 1 read
Many people are intimidated at the idea of cooking Japanese food at home. But in JapanEasy, Tim Anderson reveals that many Japanese recipes require no specialist ingredients at all, and can in fact be whipped up with products found at your local supermarket. In fact, there are only seven essential ingredients required for the whole book: soy sauce, mirin, rice vinegar, dashi, sake, miso and rice. You don't need any special equipment, either. No sushi mat? No problem use just cling film and a tea towel! JapanEasy is designed to be an introduction to the world of Japanese cooking via some of its most accessible (but authentic) dishes. If you are looking for fun, simple, relatively quick yet delicious Japanese dishes that you can actually make on a regular basis the search stops here.

I've made several dishes from this #cookbook-- all of them have been super delicious. The ingredients arent crazy expensive or even too hard to find. They really are easy to make. I highly recommend this dish and the yukisoba.

Made a library run today to pick up two holds--the top two books. The tagged book caught my eye in the new books section & when I went to look for Land of Plenty in the cookbook section (I picked the author's memoir for the April/May selection of my virtual foodie book club), I found Shrubs (the drinking kind not the garden kind).😆So today's library book haul is four cookbooks & a memoir that I started on audiobook but ran out of time. 📚+🐔🐔❤️

SandyW I didn't realize Greger had a cookbook. I can't wait to try and I just got 7y
Ddzmini Wait wait “the how not to die cookbook” ...😝🤣🤣🤣🤣 7y
LeahBergen I bought Land of Plenty after reading her memoir (and I‘m still obsessed with Sichuan cuisine 👍🏻). 7y

DebinHawaii @SandyW I am still on hold for the Greger book, the cookbook was available first. It looks like some great recipes. Vegan for everybody looks good too. 👍📚 7y
DebinHawaii @Ddzmini Hah! It's a companion cookbook to a book by the same name.🤣 7y
DebinHawaii @LeahBergen @Audrey I am excited to finally get around to reading the memoir! 📚👍And the cookbook looks like one I may need to own! 😆 7y
Ddzmini I just picture cooking for someone and it killing them and then cooking for another person and trying not to kill them 😝🤣🤣 7y
Ddzmini Or cooking for myself and not killing me 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 7y
DebinHawaii @Ddzmini Hah! Both of which should always be a goal! 🤣🎯👍 7y
