I enjoyed this story a lot. It was weird that the plot shifted from drama to straight up horror. I did appreciate the focus on metal music. From this, I realized I don't mind problematic or unconventional main characters, doesn't mean I like them, but I get invested in the plot. Thank you Ryan for sharing this pick @LibrarianRyan

Most of the book is spent on Aksel coming to terms with not being the best lead singer for his band, and that the rock and roll lifestyle he so wants, is harder to attain while keeping your musical identity then he ever thought possible. This book spent way too much time exploring Axel and his goals for the band. It is quite drawn out and boring, even though the setting is anything but.

This was an ok read. It was well written and drawn. However the story was just not for me.
