Pickpick

From the cover of the Penguin edition. What happens when a stubborn, passionate woman marries a pragmatic man who just wants a comfortable life and there is no chance of divorce? Bertha and Edward are undoubtedly extremes, but this is well observed and quite ahead of its time in the way Bertha is portrayed. Heartbreaking and frustrating at times, particularly the way Bertha's friends react to a tragedy she suffers.

When I want to tip my toe into something different I take out my 1001 books list or website now. This is how I discovered authors I would have not read at all. These three title are books I picked up when I felt adventurous. #startinganewjanuary http://www.listchallenges.com/1001-books-you-should-read-before-you-die-complete

RebelReader I'm going to read A Suitable Boy this year too. 😊 7y
writerlibrarian @RebelReader I love that book. Took me about a month because I took my time and kinda slowed down the pace at the end because I didn't want it to end. There is a kinda sequel to it that is coming maybe sometime this year. 7y
