pickThis was a well crafted story pitched perfectly at a middle high school level, with honest, flawed characters and a female MC with hard choices to make. Although most teens are unlikely to experience the pressures that come with elite sport, Harper's story is relatable in the ways she relates to her parents, friends and her love interest. We need more books in which active teens can see themselves reflected, and Taryn Bashford delivers.
I‘m trying to cull my library book shelves before vacation (still three weeks away but it can‘t get here fast enough). I was hoping this one would be kind of like that Kirsten Dunst movie Wimbledon (anyone else remember that one???) I liked the first chapter but I quickly realized it is WAY overwritten. I read the last few chapters to see what happens and now it‘s going back to the library. On to the next one!
