In this thrilling new novel from the author of Industrial Magic, a pregnant werewolf may have unwittingly unleashed Jack the Ripper on the twenty-first century — and become his next target… Ever since she discovered she’s pregnant, Elena Michaels has been on edge. After all, she’s never heard of another living female werewolf, let alone one who’s given birth. But thankfully, her expertise is needed to retrieve a stolen letter allegedly written by Jack the Ripper. As a distraction, the job seems simple enough — only the letter contains a portal to Victorian London’s underworld, which Elena inadvertently triggers — unleashing a vicious killer and a pair of zombie thugs. Now Elena must find a way to seal the portal before the unwelcome visitors get what they’re looking for — which, for some unknown reason, is Elena… From the Paperback edition.

I think this is my favorite of the Elena stories so far, as the dynamic between her and Clay is much less toxic. In this installment (#6 in the Otherworld series), the werewolves accidentally open a dimensional portal and release some zombies and a sorcerer from Victorian London, one of whom may be Jack the Ripper. Elena, pregnant and anxious, is targeted by these beings, but they‘re all in danger.

#SpinePoetry is fun, but the aftermath is not! Throwback to last October showing the finished works & some of the #stacks of books that piled up as I tried to find the perfect combination of titles. #SisforSeptember

The Women of the Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong is a series filled with strong supernatural characters. It isn't necessarily a supernatural mystery, but there is definitely crime solving involved!

Broken is one of my favourites as the story line involves an interesting take on Jack the Ripper!

The little toy on top in case anyone is wondering is a Giant Microbe - Adipose Tissue (fat cell).

So happy this book was about Clay and Elena again. They are my absolute favourite characters. Wish they would have spent more time after the babies were born, but who know it could be in another book. One problem that I did notice with this book was that they abandoned the Xavier and human buyer story line. Although probably not the most interesting, would have been nice to see it wrap up a little bit better.

PART 1- Once upon a time, a Redheaded Canadian was married to a bad man, who - among other unspeakable things - refused to let her buy books. One day, she ran away from this bad man & escaped to a cabin in the woods, where she spent a brutal winter healing with many books and many glasses of whiskey. "I'm done, " she said, as she closed the door on life, "I gave too much and lost too much. I have nothing left, so I'll just hide here forever. "
