From the inventors of the barcode to to the creator of the Concord grape, this book features 109 forgotten American heroes (and some villains) who have make a mark on our nations history. The layout is fun and easy to read. This book can relate to all sorts of subject matter and could be utilized as a RA, IR, PR, or even as a featured book at a center. #ucflae3414f17

I really like the suggested activity to have students design and create their own hero page for the book. 7y
cheyennewilliams UDL strategy 7.1: optimize individual choice and autonomy. During the activity, students are able to explore a variety of heroes within the book and then are allowed to select their own hero to focus on for their own hero page. 7y
cheyennewilliams EL strategy 28: provide biographies of significant men and women from different countries. To accommodate EL's, biographies of men and women from their native country should be provided so that the student has the opportunity to create a hero page on a figure that is familiar to them. 7y
