TRIAL BY DESIRE was Courtney Milan‘s second book, and she majorly leveled up her skill set between PROOF BY SEDUCTION and this. It feels far closer to her recent books.

I plan to start TRIAL BY DESIRE tonight. It and SEDUCING THE DARK PRINCE, which I‘ll try next, are two of my unread 2020 acquisitions.
I didn‘t formally join #bookspin, but I did make a list just for fun and MASKS AND SHADOWS was my #20. I‘ve had an awkward PDF ARC on La TBR for way too many years.
For comics, I‘ll finish VOICE OVER! and start a reread/catch-up of A BRIDE‘S STORY.
And for short fiction: MCSWEENEY‘S.

Another BookSale serendipity find. :) It‘s the first Courtney Milan book I‘ve found in print and though I haven‘t read anything from her, I‘ve been in love with her insightful and feisty tweets since I followed her early last year. My avid romance reader friends also highly recommend her books so this should be fun. 🤗

pickEverything Courtney Milan writes is solid gold. Ned is dealing with what is probably bipolar disorder before anyone even knows what that is, and it's treated with such wonderful (and, in my experience, true to life) nuance about what that's like. Kate is fantastic and her "hobby" of helping wives escape their abusive husbands made me punch the air with patriarchy-smashing glee.
And now it's time for something completely different to kick off the Thanksgiving 4 day weekend of reading! I've never read any of her work before, but it was recommended so here we go.
