A Butterfly Is Patient
A Butterfly Is Patient | Dianna Hutts Aston
20 posts | 7 read
The creators of the award-winning An Egg Is Quiet and A Seed Is Sleepy have teamed up again to create this gorgeous and informative introduction to the world of butterflies. From iridescent blue swallowtails and brilliant orange monarchs to the worlds tiniest butterfly (Western Pygmy Blue) and the largest (Queen Alexandra's Birdwing), an incredible variety of butterflies are celebrated here in all of their beauty and wonder. Perfect for a child's bedroom bookshelf or for a classroom reading circle! Plus, this is the fixed format version, which looks almost identical to the print edition.

This book is perfect for teaching about metamorphosis and the importance of insects in nature. Students can use the book to create their own diagrams or life-cycle charts of other animals. It can also inspire a hands-on project, like raising caterpillars and observing their transformation.

“ a butterfly is not a moth”
I am glad that they highlighted on this topic, because although they are very similar, they are different. I think this goes along with people as well although we are similar. We are all different.

And I thought each page has like a little title that describes kind of what is happening, starting with the title of the book. It is simple yet effective element within a story. I like how this is more of a drawing story, but it is non-fiction.

This book not only teaches children about the life cycle of a butterfly and what happens during its life but also what it means to be patient. The illustrations are really cool in the book and I think children would appreciate it.
