The Nashville Chronicles: The Making of Robert Altman's Masterpiece | 
Every time we visit a city, we fall in love with it. The spirit, the vibe, the people: the beautiful and the unsavoury, the colourful and the frightening, the magical and its dirty underbelly. Nashville is exactly what our souls needed before embarking on our huge international move. We feasted on its barbecued ribs, hot chicken, tater tots and grits, flat sausages and white gravy - and the music, oh, the live music. I can totally live here.

Indispensable, fun, behind-the-scenes history on the making of a subversive, American, counter-culture classic (that happens to be set in my hometown... in as much as Robert Altman could "find it," anyway). Great and thorough peak into Altman's process, and an endlessly entertaining read.
