Saw David Sedaris tonight at Town Hall, where he gave away this pair of pants the guy who introduced him is wearing. Afterward there was a book signing by Sedaris and Akhil Sharma who was his guest this evening. It was a lot of fun and the signing was very friendly and personable.

Won free tickets from our local bookstore @TatteredCoverBookStore to see David live!! No photos during the show but they were great seats! Gotta love that dry sense of humor.

Mehso-so

I love peeking at peoples diaries and I love Sedaris but this book has a weird hushed and reverential tone that would be more fitting for a Cornell or Hopper retrospective. The quote above from the foreword is typical Sedaris wry humor but the rest of the book is dead serious and just seemed at odds with the funky assemblages and snippets of misspelled diary entries. Interesting but not essential
