My first ereader is still going strong... I might switch back for longer than just that book (loving the instant opening of books and the metal casing, plus that cover was hand made by a friend)
That's why I keep going back to reading Heinlein even with his backward view on women... Because I started by reading stranger in a strange land and his way of defining mariage and found family is not conventional and strangely aligned to mine.
My current ereader (à pocketbook touch lux, 6 or 7 years old) is taking ages to open the tagged epub, so I'm trying to revive my older Sony ereader, while reading on my husband Kobo...
I don't want to buy another reader but that lagging for big books is inconvenient and the firmware has not had an update since 2014... It's mostly a good ereader just not today.
Planning my summer reading by uploading books on the tablet... But that not taking into account paper books or reticence by Gail Carriger which will be out in August and a priority read ;)
Found this old one.
Wonderful reading. Good start for a romp through the classics of Sci Fi.
Where to even begin with this book? It has so much going on and so many characters. I really enjoyed the themes in the book, how love and family can transform you, but it‘s definitely not my fsvourite Heinlein.
Why am I subjecting myself to Heinlein's smug, macho libertarianism? Yawn. I don't think I'll have the energy or enthusiasm to finish and scratch this doorstop off my TBR list. Any SF recommendations?
One of many quotes from Lazarus Long, aka Woodrow Wilson Smith, aka many more...
As usual, superb storytelling from RAH. Lazarus Long, aka Woodrow Wilson Smith, aka many others... is a highly memorable protagonist with a unique story. 2300+ years old and very much in love with life, as well as numerous women. 😁 Warning: plot involves incest, so if that puts you off, beware.
