pickA page turner. Didn't like the ending, still found it hard to put the book diwn.

so-soA climbing accident leaves Alex in a coma where he can hear & feel everything that happens, but no one else knows that. He begins to realise that maybe it wasn‘t an accident after all.
An intriguing premise let down by a dragging middle section & a bratty character (Alex‘s sister). Overall verdict: could have been better. 3⭐️

panThis was on course to get a so-so for a somewhat implausible story (climber has an accident that puts him in some kind of weird vegetative/locked-in state, but can hear/smell everything around him whilst failing every cognitive test known to medical science) but a weak “twist” and long drawn out ending dragged it down; I was left feeling hugely disappointed with this novel
pickAlex fell. And now Alex is in a coma. But what the doctors and his family don't know is that Alex can hear and feel. And when the police look into his accident, he didn't fall at all. Told from the perspective of Alex, this feels slow in places as we to wait for information to trickle through via the visitors to Alex's bedside. Really interesting concept and moving illustration of how families cope. The whodunnit was good, but guessable...
pickI can‘t believe this is a debut. From the first chapter I was hooked and at times when I couldn‘t read, it was all I could think about. Meet Alex who has been in a coma for two years, doctors believe he is brain dead and unresponsive but Alex is aware of everything. An interesting concept and a total page turner.
pickGood gripping story! Made me think which is always a good thing!😂.
I liked the main character Alex and his friend Tom very much. The rest not so keen.
I though bits with the nurses/ carers were particularly good.
The writer obviously did some great research.

pickThis book just keeps you reading. I can't imagine how it feels to be able to see and feel everything going on around you but having no means of communicating this. Alex is also trying to solve the mystery of his fall and protect his girlfriend. A brilliant read and an author I will be reading more from
