#MarchMadness Sports Story

The tagged is the first book I read, written by this witty marathoner. Miss lacing up and reading such inspiring tales

swynn I love Karnazes! I remember finishing Ultramarathon Man the night before my first sub-4:00 marathon. I swear he got me through the last six. 5y
BookishMe @swynn wow! Perfect reading material before the FM (will KIV ;)) I know what you mean about him getting you through. So many training runs and HMs completed with his words in my head - step by step - run when you can, walk if you have to, crawl if you must. 5y

Confession: ever since I learned they existed I've been kind of obsessed with the concept of ultra marathons. I mean not that I think I could ever do one. Just the intensity of running that far (a lot of them are around 100 miles) in grueling conditions. Whew! Luckily I could live vicariously through Dean as he talks about the multiple ultra marathons he has run.

Erinreadsthebooks Did you read Born To Run by Christopher McDougall? I was totally unaware that ultramarathons existed, too, until I read it. I loved that book! 8y
SarahK @Erinstutts I haven't read it but it's on my TBR 8y

Unlike Tom Foreman's memoir, this author doesn't have much in the way of insight or humor. He's a great runner and he'll tell you all about it. Women think he's quite a catch and he'll tell you about that too. His family likes supporting him, which seems to be their sole purpose. That's about it.
