This RF book is an adorable story about the journey of a baby turtle hatching from an egg and his search to find his mom in the sea. This story contains very descriptive words about everything the turtle encounters in his journey. I‘ll follow the Moon written by Stephanie Tara and illustrated by Lee Fodi has won the Moms choice awards and also the Chocolate Lily Award. I would beat use this as a Storytelling book for my class. Great descriptive..
Bshelton27 Words really give you the opportunity to dive into the story. https://intranet.cshgreenwich.org/ewebeditpro4/upload/044_I_ll_Follow_the_Moon.p... this activity lets students practice sequencing and you can best pair it with UDL strategy 1.1 (offer ways of customizing display of information) and ESOL 30( offer a variety of reference materials at the students instructional level for independent use.) #ucflae3414su19 (edited) 5y
Macker11 I was going to say, what a neat book to teach students how sea turtles come into the world! But the resource definitely goes with that exactly! I think kids would be so interested in this book and the whole process! Then you could tie it into how you don‘t disturb the sea turtle nest while you‘re at the beach! 5y
Bshelton27 Especially living in Florida with all the turtle nest! The descriptive words in this book are so spot on and could really help new students who have maybe never gone to the beach before make connections! 5y
DrSpalding You can absolutely make a text to world connections with this text! Having visited the beach several times this summer, children and young adults alike were asking about the roped off turtle nesting sites. What a great book to integrate science and literacy. 5y
