At times tedious, at times sweet, and all the time reminding me how thankful I am to live in the 21st century with my washer and dryer! I was pleasantly surprised that this book encouraged women with children to teach housekeeping skills to both boys and girls, and I loved that there was a chapter on keeping house for working women! Though not the most riveting read, I love Persephone's dedication to preserving women's history in all forms.
