You guys are going to stop believing me when I say you have to read this book, because it is awesome. I love books that throw you right into the action. Noah gets picked up from school one day by both his parents in a rental car filled with luggage. They are headed behind the Iron Curtain. Not just for kids- I loved it.
Already out in the US, hitting Australian shelves in March. Not a topic (the Berlin Wall) often covered in YA lit.
Absolutely fantastic! I have to admit I don't know much about the history of the Berlin Wall and East/West Berlin, but this book was so informative and fascinating. It is told through a ten-year-old boy (along with some Secret Files) named Noah whose life is turned upside down when he and his parents, who have secrets of their own, move to the GDR where everyone is listening. #cloudandwallfish #mrschureads #annenesbet
I love picking up my holds at the library. So many great choices.
Just started it - coming from @CandlewickPress this fall - but it's basically LeCarré for middle schoolers.
