No Is a Four-Letter Word
No Is a Four-Letter Word: How I Failed Spelling But Succeeded in Life | Chris Jericho
5 posts | 5 read | 1 reading | 3 to read
Chris Jericho is a six-time pro-wrestling champion, international touring musician, three-time bestselling author, award-winning actor and popular podcaster. How did he make it to the top of so many fields? He explains the secrets of his success in this humorous and inspirational book. NO IS A FOUR LETTER WORD displays Chris's trademark writing style, jam-packed with ridiculous stories and hilarious pop culture references. He shows how a small-town Canadian kid followed his seemingly impossible dreams and against all odds made them all come true. The book is organised around 22 principles on what it takes to make it to the top of your field and the legends that influenced each principle. Whether it's learning how to make any situation work (like when he bargained with his boss Vince McMahon for the chance to meet Keith Richards), spending money to make money (when he doled out tens of thousands of dollars on his trademark light-up jackets because that's what KISS would do), learning from his NHL legend father Ted to always sell himself, or learning how to let go of the crushing loss of the possible gig of a lifetime, Jericho takes you with him on his journey up success's ladder one step at a time! And shows readers how they can apply these principles to their own lives.

🤘🏽A book that discusses some simple but principles for success in regards to pursuing your dreams and aspirations, no matter how big or small.
🤘🏽Humorous, cheesy as hell.
🤘🏽Uses his ignorance & privilege to offensively talk about the Islamic religion & how it‘s practised in Dubai., condemning an entire faith for the cultural practices of one region of the world. Unacceptable.
🤘🏽2/5

How do I put this? If you are a fan of Jericho's, you have probably heard his podcast, and therefore know his cadence, humor, etc. This reads as he talks on his podcast. If you are not his fan, the grammar, his asides, and his free flow writings/thoughts will be maddening. This is a motivational book with lots of material taken from his previous 3 books. Still fun, but I was hoping for new stories. It is also really short.

Went to Amazon Book store in NYC. Strange, but interesting. Happy to pay Prime prices, but limited selection. Here was my haul.

mrozzz Certainly weird. Far too limited. 7y
NerdyRev @mrozzz I thought the same thing. It was a one time experience. I travel to get to NYC and I wouldn't go out of my way to go there again. 7y
mrozzz Definitely. I went there a couple days after it opened and it was packed and I had a specific book in mind and they didn't have it! 7y

#TBRtemptation post 1! #BEA17 edition! Expected release set for August 29th. In memoir style, WWE wrestler and rock star Chris Jericho explains 22 principles that will help you accomplish your goals. Humorous, serious, and a bit irreverent, he uses real-life examples that he and his family and friends employed (including his NHL-legend dad) to get one step closer or one rung higher. Definitely not dry! #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎

ThatBookishGal ? thanks to my husband, I know way more about wrestling than I probably should! Especially Mr Sexy Piñata himself. When he found out Jericho was at BEA his year, husband was actually sad that I didn‘t say anything about it!!! Lol 8y
