Breakfast with my first Persephone, which I‘m finally reading four years after I bought it. I love Ashton‘s prose style and I‘m enjoying the story, but the book itself is giving me grief. The binding‘s so stiff that it must‘ve been designed for those people who barely open their books when they read them—which, to be blunt, I consider ridiculous behaviour. If all Persephones are like this, I won‘t rush to get another. My hands HURT.
I‘m still doing the rogue #BookSpin participant thing. I didn‘t complete a line last month because my Must-Reads were pretty spread out and I focused on Scribd books for the last couple weeks, but I should manage at least one line here. Maybe two or three, depending on how long RHYTHM OF WAR takes me.
Speaking of: this month, I broke with tradition and added three library books to my list, with a free space in case I borrow or buy anything else.
My tiny but powerful Book Market haul. TWILIGHT'S DAWN and THE WOLF GIFT are things I've already read and wanted to own, SPINDLE'S END will do nicely for the Robin McKinley binge I want to have at some point, and BRICKS AND MORTAR was too pretty to leave behind, especially since y'all rave about Persephone titles.
I'm excited they had journals this time around, too! The dog poop one will hold a special place in my heart.
