Night of the Monster Men is a Batman comic through the prism of horror tropes. Some of the spreads are just stunning.

I'm still a little behind when it comes to DC comics. I didn't really enjoy this story until the very end. The final rising action and resolution were interesting. It certainly gives new light to the 2nd trade I am Suicide.

So this was the first cross over for the Rebirth era of DC and man it set the bar real damn high. Also Riley Rossmo did the art on the Batman issues and they were glorious I wish he was on more stuff. #comics #batman #comicscatchup

I work at a comic shop and I am almost a full year behind on DC and Marvel comics. I'm trying to catch up by reading at least 5 issues every day. So, I did a little catching up on stuff I'm up to date on (top row) and I dug into by back issue box marked unread for two more (the box is full and there's a stack of x-men comics beside it now I'm never gonna catch up). Monster Men is off to an amazing start. #comics #dccomics #batman

Both kind of ridiculous and honestly quite entertaining, the Batfamily's fight against the Monster Men of Gotham is a big budget blockbuster companion to the normal Batbooks, a book-long action scene that mostly works thanks to shockingly creepy monster design and some fantastic art. It lacks the depth of King's normal stuff and the inventiveness of Snyder's, but it is nevertheless an entertaining read.
