A fast-paced, but quite dated financial crime novel. Easy, entertaining, but superficial.

Follett before he became THE Follett. Not a badly written book, but he‘s written so many great ones, and this does not live up to expectations. It‘s a short read for a Follett. Set during one day in London. A businessman, minister and journalist have something in common. Read the book to find out more 😃 I find the strong lead characters to be missing in this book, and that‘s one of the strengths in Follett‘s writing.
This was originally written under a pseudonym, but then republished later under Ken Follet‘s name. Published in 1976 so feels a bit dated but then the situation they are talking about could happen today. Overall this was really just an okay book & not up to the standard, or as long, as most of his other books. Don‘t feel it was all developed, or his characters are developed as well as in his other books, and there are quite. Few characters too.

Early Follett book about high finance and crime. Not as good as his later books but a nice start to his career. Takes place during one action-packed day. The scheme moves “paper money” around at a dizzy pace. Interesting characters and plot but falls a little short in the suspense department. Looking forward to reading another of his books and recommend this book to those who like to read books with interesting characters.
I missed a few days, so I‘m just picking up where I left off.
Day 16: I‘m following the idea to post a book from my tbr list from @StaceyKondla and @Cortg
No description or reason for wanting to read it is necessary if you want to join along. #tbrpile
For the Ken Follett buddy reads with @Tove_Reads and @EadieB I have started Paper Money.
Time for another Follett in June! Less than 300 pages. Weird 😂
