I have a pic of my dog on the sofa that is such a favorite that this scene hit me in all the feels. I bought this for my grand nephew who is 3; hoping he will love it. The art is lovely, the animals mentioned provide some learning, and it won a Caldecott.
This RF book by Mary Logue follows a young child who doesn‘t want to go to sleep. Her parents help her fall asleep by explaining how all of the other animals in the world fall asleep in their own ways. The beautiful illustrations by Pamela Zagarenski earned this book the 2013 Caldecott award. This book would be good for RT, RA, and DR. #UCFLAE3414F19

“The tiger in the jungle, when he is not hunting he finds some shade and closes his eyes and sleeps, that way he stays strong.”

She had picked out her favorite pajamas and still did not go to sleep. She asked if everything and everyone goes to sleep. She is most interested in the tiger and where and when he sleeps. The tiger needs to sleep so he is strong and mighty.
#WinterWonderland Day 5: Instead of #RunningAcrossThinIceWithTigers - how about Sleep Like a Tiger instead? The story was made even more special with Zagarenski‘s very thoughtful, detailed art – which won the Caldecott the year this was published. It is just brimming with so much intelligence and craftsmanship. My full review: https://wp.me/pDlzr-bYe
A relaxing Realistic Tale, Caldecott award, TS's include RA, S, SR, GR and CR, is about a girl who is convinced she is not sleepy. The parents smoothly ease the girl into where, where she'll inevitably go-to bed. The artwork is very interesting and gravitating as each character has their own crown which is symbolic to the status within the household. This book also explores a bit into animals sleeping that can cooperate with a science lesson plan.
This F book written by Mary Logue and illustrated by Pamela Zagarenski was awarded the Caldecott Honor Award.
