“Reason cannot produce the poetry disorder does.”
Remembering Angela Carter on her birthday.
I knew this was going to be surreal, and that turned out to be an understatement. I read it more slowly than I usually read and still feel like there was a lot I didn‘t grasp. The prose was beautiful (as I expect from Angela Carter) but there was also a lot more sexual violence than I was expecting. Gorgeous in places but also brutal and confusing

One of the more unique stories I've read in a long while. The Infernal Desire Machines of Doctor Hoffman. Angela Carter.
