When it comes to #readinggadgets, this iPad mini is basically my only one. It‘s not ideal for reading use but it works from time to time when I get stuck reading an ebook. Most recently the tagged book, which I just discussed with my #bookclub yesterday!
pickJust finished reading this for the second time, in order to discuss with my #bookclub. Content warning for extreme depictions of sex and violence still stands, but I think I got even more out of it this time. I noticed more in the beginning that becomes relevant at the end. REALLY looking forward to the discussion on this.
pickSo first of all warning that this includes some very shocking and descriptive passages about sex and violence, which is not what I expected from a novel about the Singularity. On the other hand, novelty often appeals to me, especially when it comes to something like the Singularity and oft-repeated meditations on how humanity might handle AI-induced immortality. Made me want to reread I, Robot.

TRIGGER WARNING TRIGGER WARNING TRIGGER WARNING!!!
Seriously, I kind of feel uncomfortable even bringing this book up. The first chapter alone makes "I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream" lool like Disney's Smart House. If you're really curious, the second chapter gets into the nitty-gritty A.I. business, which is legit interesting and gripping. But again, can't stress this enough, #triggerwarning
