Malice in Wonderland #1: Alice the Assassin
Malice in Wonderland #1: Alice the Assassin | Lotus Rose
3 posts | 3 read | 1 to read
It's a lot easier to be ruthless when you're heartless. . . The truth is not what you were led to believe. Alice never left Wonderland. It wasn't all "just a dream." It's a nightmare. A nightmare she can't escape, where formerly pleasant characters throw her unhappy unbirthday parties to torment her, while others like to make her cry so they can lick her tears. But one day after years of this unpleasantness, she loses her heart. Literally. Well, technically someone steals it. And she has to get it back. By any means necessary. And it's a lot easier to be ruthless now that she's heartless. She will have her heart returned to her even if she has to kill all the citizens of Wonderland one by one... By the author of The Poniworld Chronicles and SinEaster.

My 3rd book for #JumpStart2021 and #BookSpinBingo

I am reading books for challenges at the moment, so not sure I will actually get a bingo this month, but I live in hope 🤣

This was my first book for the #FairytaleReadingChallenge which I am super excited to participate in! But I am looking forward to the other months more, as Alice in Wonderland is weird to start with!

Brief synopsis below 👇🏻

Bookworm54 A lot of characters from the original story were in this book. What if Alice never left Wonderland? What if the Wonderland inhabitants had become cruel? What if someone stole her heart? What if she lost her reflection? The story had an interesting concept, but I found it odd that the 13yr old character was often described as flirtatious? Overall an interesting concept, and an okay read. I won‘t be reading the others in this series. 4y
TheAromaofBooks I'm planning to read the original story this month for the #FairytaleReadingChallenge as I don't think I've read it since high school!! It was never a favorite, so I think I'm going to pass on the retellings. 4y

I am going to start this #AliceInWonderland retelling today for #FairytaleReadingChallenge

I love a fairytale retelling so I am interested to see what this one is like (I already had it on my kindle which is why I picked this specific version)

#JumpStart2021

Lizpixie Sounds different. My favourite Alice retelling is Christina Henry‘s dark version❤️🖤❤️ 4y
Bookworm54 @Lizpixie I haven‘t read any of her books, but after a quick search it looks like she has some great retellings! I will have to add her to my list of authors to look out for! 4y

Book 3 of 2018 - I love a good Alice story!

TraceofBase So this little hundred pager was different (a little weird/awkwardly written at points). Very quick read. I like different renditions of fairy tales so I gave this a chance - maybe a good choice for a plane ride!
