Women in Clothes | 
pickAlthough over 500 pages, each work in this anthology is only a few pages long. This makes it easy to pick up and set down, which was good, since I have been busy with grad school and don‘t always have long periods of time to read for fun. The pieces are thoughtful and feature a diversity of perspectives (including WoC, older women, trans women). There were also several pieces on some of the ethical problems of fashion.

Just spent about half an hour with this book. I want to give it another chance but I'm unimpressed with it so far. The intro consists of Skype transcripts and emails that don't seem to be edited. The transcripts provide little of interest to anyone beyond the people involved in the conversations. The formatting is truly strange. The clothing survey questions are presented as a solid block of text with no spaces, rendering them sadly unreadable.
This book is amazing. It's huge and I only read a little bit of it every day but it is fantastic. It makes me feel so energised and fills my mind with interesting thoughts. #clothes #fashion #style #nonfiction

This collection of essays, illustrations, photo essays, and other writings explore what it means to be a woman in the world who has a relationship with fashion, beauty, and feminism. It's inspiring because it shows that you can be into feminism and fashion (or not), and it's ok.

Since we're over halfway through 2016 (😦), I thought it a good time to look back over the books I've read so far. Out of the 73 I've finished, these 5 have had the greatest impact on me. I still think of them often, and I'm so glad they're a part of my reading life.
