Could not put this book down, very good.

Former National Lampoon writer and humorist and Republican, P.J. O‘Rourke‘s not so flattering take on the 2016 election, Trump, and how we got here. It‘s important to reiterate in our present political environment. This guy is a Republican. I found the last two chapters to be more enlightening than humorous. His opinion is “spot on”.
“So strong is the propensity of mankind to fall into mutual animosities that where no substantial occasion presents itself the most frivolous and fanciful distinctions have been sufficient to kindle their unfriendly passions and excite their most violent conflicts.” - George Washington on the formation of Political Parties from “How the Hell Did This Happen” by P.J. O‘Rourke
I assume that the hashtag #rightnow is requesting cogent analysis of the modern Conservative movement, and when I want to understand what the Right is thinking Now, I always start with P. J. O'Rourke, which is why this book is hovering towards the top of my TBR. @Cinfhen #augustgrrl
So this happened when I wasn't looking! 😲
Thank you wonderful Litsy community, y'all keep me sane in this world turned upside down. 👍🏽😍🙌📚
Happy Independent Bookstore Day! My local Indy is giving away a free ARC with each purchase. I think I made a good pairing.
O'Rourke's satirical writing and honesty about the hot mess that the 2016 election was makes for a very entertaining read. He is an equal opportunity analyst and writes about the many problems all of the candidates had. Funny, thoughtful and an admitted disjointed book that matches the pace and tone of the election itself. Highly recommended if you enjoy political humor.
Just got approved for this today and I am feeling the title of this book. How the hell indeed...
