Book #25 of 2021 was another great one by Elizabeth Fremantle & I loved it!! Yes this is fiction, but even in historical records, it‘s clear that Penelope Devereaux was a force to be reckoned with!

Book number 2 for this year‘s challenge -picked it up for 5$ at Indigo. Who doesn‘t love a bargain? 👀#historicalfiction
Very good. Enjoyed it start to finish. The only issue I had with this book was how the author did some flashbacks as it sometimes it wasn't made clear so I had to re-read some paragraphs a couple of times to realise that it was a memory. Recommend📖📚

Wonderful historical fiction! I am always into history and historical fiction, and this didn't disappoint. The author stayed away from excessive drama and got a very accurate representation of the actual events. I haven't read an account of the Essex and Elizabeth relationship and its subsequent demise from the viewpoint of Penelope Devereux. Penelope was a fantastic lead character, especially contrasted with the opposing views from Cecil.
