I love this book for Lit circles. This historical fiction novel follows a girl named Kit living in the 1930s.

Alexisjordan5 My sister had American Girl dolls growing up and I remember her reading this to her dolls. 6y
DeniseR Best book ever! I read this twice as a child. I understood the time period in a different light as her family began to struggle in the Depression. She journaled a lot and I can see reflection time and writing being used in the classroom. #UCFSU19 6y

The 2nd Grader is reading this and loving it. She didn‘t know Mommy read these books before the dolls were a thing. Kit has some great lessons!
