Jones' books can be so gleefully madcap. I love how every single character has separate agency, and her descriptions of big noisy happy families are a relevation. Still, this particular one is a tangle of multiple vast plotline ideas and settings that I would have loved to see explanded, a series and not a novel. Beloved, but flawed. High pick.
