Picked this up fro the tbr pile with a view to sending it to my 8-year-old niece who has run out of books to read. Well, I won‘t be sending it to her. It‘s sweet and ghostly as I remember, but only in places. This one also has a young Black boy rescued from slavery in it and the depiction is... problematic to me now, so I wouldn‘t want to pass it on to a little one who might get some wrong impressions from it.

Did anyone else read this series as a kid?? I found them both amazing & terrifying. My parents were really strict about supernatural books, so I had to read them secretly under the covers, which probably added to the drama. 😉 #greentitleorauthor #17rainbowbooks

ValerieAndBooks I did! Borrowed from the library quite a few times! Such a long time ago that I don't remember much about them except one of the main characters was named Tolly. I should look for them! 8y
