What a fabulous list from @Chelsea.Poole ! I‘ve never read any of them, and 14 are available as audiobooks in my library. What great matching, @monalyisha ! I think I‘m going to start with Crossings.

Chelsea.Poole Oh, what a great one to start with…I think about the concepts in that book nearly everyday (as a road system user!). I hope you enjoy it! 2mo
TheKidUpstairs Great list @Chelsea.Poole! I'm sure it will come as no surprise that I too loved a lot of these titles :) Now excuse me while I go stack the ones I missed! 2mo

I was so excited to wake up to this fantastic list from @Zuhkeeyah 🎉

I‘ve read & loved two of these. Shark Heart was on my #auldlangspine list of favorites last year. Just for the Summer almost made it on my list this year but was very slightly edged out.

I already have A Woman is No Man & Amina Al-sirafi on my shelf to read. Margo‘s Got Money Troubles is on my Christmas wishlist & the others in the right corner I‘ve been wanting to read.

MeganAnn The bottom left covers are ones that I very much want to read, but are either harder subjects to read about (I.e I have to intersperse them with some of the lighter happy ever after titles) or ones more outside of my wheelhouse. I don‘t usually read thrillers, however the author of First Lie Wins also wrote 10 Blind Dates which I really loved and is a completely different kind of book. So I‘m sort of curious about that. (edited) 2mo
Chelsea.Poole Nice list! I‘ve read and loved 1,4,7,8,11,13! 2mo
TheKidUpstairs I love seeing everyone's lists! Some really solid reads. Know My Name is absolutely fantastic, but you're right it's a very difficult read. Definitely best paired with something lighter! 2mo

MeganAnn @Chelsea.Poole oooh you‘ve read quite a few of these! Do have a favorite of the ones you‘ve read? 2mo
MeganAnn @TheKidUpstairs I love seeing everyone‘s lists too! Know My Name definitely looks like something that will be fantastic and is likely an important read, but difficult. Which I don‘t mind when I‘m in the mood for that kind of thing. Just have to pick up something light in between to give my brain a break. 2mo
Chelsea.Poole I agree with @TheKidUpstairs (my match last year!) Know My Name is tough but unforgettable. I loved it. I also loved Five Little Indians from her list. Margo made my list for 2025 for my match. 2mo
TheKidUpstairs @Chelsea.Poole Margo made my list this year, too! 👯‍♀️ 2mo
Zuhkeeyah @MeganAnn I‘m so happy you like the list 🥰 Yeah, there are a few heavy reads on there and I totally understand needing a breather book at the same time. 2mo
MeganAnn @Zuhkeeyah I love that your list includes both kinds of books! It will be a nice balance during the month. Looks like @Chelsea.Poole and @TheKidUpstairs have convinced me that I absolutely have to read Know My Name. And Margo has been on my wish list since I first saw it so if I don‘t get it as a Christmas gift I‘m definitely getting myself a copy. 2mo

#AuldLangSpine wrap-up! I thoroughly enjoyed reading from @monalyisha ‘s list in January. I read three—all new to me—and I‘m glad to have discovered them! Lost & Found was hands-down my favorite: gorgeous writing, beautifully structured, meaningful and thought-provoking. And I still feel so privileged to have my list hand-picked—I‘m looking forward to reading more from your list in the coming months (currently in the middle of Hijab Butch Blues)!

monalyisha It seems like Hijab Butch Blues will be a great pairing for your recent read (Beyond a Binary God)! 12mo
BarbaraJean @monalyisha Yes! So many parallels between the two! 12mo

This is my final round-up for January‘s #AuldLangSpine event, along with my list. I finished 3 books & am in the middle of The Cartographers—and I‘ve really enjoyed them all. Especially Babel, which was fantastic and will probably make it onto my best-of list by the end of the year. There are so many others here that I want to explore, and I‘m planning to continue to read from the list throughout the year. Thank you @Karisimo for such great picks!

I‘m so excited for my first #AuldLangSpine! It‘s never easy narrowing down all the books I loved in a year to a list of 20, but I did it. I can‘t wait to see who you match me with @monalyisha and what books I‘ll be diving into next year. Thank you for the hard work you put into this event!

I grabbed a cup of coffee & leisurely filled out the form for #auldlangspine with the list I‘ve been lovingly curating for the past 10 months, because this is one of my favorite Litsy events. Thank you @monalyisha for hosting & the early sign up! And I like the name change, since I always messed up the old name! 😂

monalyisha What a lovely note and hilariously perfect graphic. Thank you! 🥳🙏🏻 2y

1. Continue the reading streak with my son (tonight will be 673, so we‘ll hit 1000 nights this year)
2. Read 150 books
3. Diversify genre & format of reading materials, as well as emphasizing diversity in authors and characters
4. Read professional development books (I‘m a librarian)
5. Do 1000 books before kindergarten with my little niece and nephew
6. Participate in reading challenges

Just under the wire (well, I have 2 hours left)! Glad I managed that many this year (original goal was 125), and I think I'll up it to 150 for next year. The only challenge I'm doing so far for 2017 is a modified alpha author challenge from my own shelves. Will write up some details tomorrow, need to figure some logistics tonight.
I'm so thankful that I have all of you and #Litsy in my life!
Here's hoping for a much better 2017! 😘🍾
