This book was great! Morin is convincing and wise, sharing personal stories and her learned positions from her education and practice. I recommend this book!

Amy Morin's story is inspiring and this was well-written (and well-narrated). I'm not sure, though, how much I got out of it considering I spent most the time arguing with the audiobook about whether or not I'm self-sabotaging. And that just seems a bit counterproductive.
As a therapist I sneak self-help books into my reading so I can recommend them (or not) to my patients. I thought this was clear, pragmatic and supportive for positive change. Some parts were a little intense and I think some nuance could have helped, but overall, I will recommend!
⭐⭐⭐A helpful guide for anyone feeling like they need a bit of toughening up when it comes to their mental strength. Thought provoking- with doable steps we can start to add to our arsenal to help us be stronger, more resilient and less reactive to things/people around us. It helps to change the way we will view our problems. #amymorin #13thingsmentallystrongpeopledo #tea_sipping_bookworm #goodreads #amazonkindle #litsy #thestorygraph #selfhelp
I read this in one sitting! A really eye opening and interesting read. Tons of stories and perspectives all wrapped up into one. Have already recommended it to numerous people 🤪
So, a lot this I learned in therapy. Since I can't afford my therapist anymore (she moved OON) this was a good replacement to just, keep the spirits up.
#pugsoflitsy Yep, Bleecker boy on the lap tonight.
A little self awareness for tonight. Sometimes, I just need to psych myself up. With the holidays coming, I need to prepare.

I‘m quite sure there was not a single original idea in this book. It felt cliched and tired and trite. I sympathize with the author. She‘s been through some terrible things in her life. But there is absolutely nothing here that hasn‘t been said a hundred times before, and better.
There are some things you can never control, there are somethings you can and you need to find the balance for it. One thing you can always control is what you can and have to do.
Since its the start of a new year, I've begun listening to any positive-sounding and upbeat self-help audiobook available on Overdrive. Why not? I figure it can't hurt! Maybe some helpful things will stick.
This one actually wasn't so bad. None of the advice offered was earth-shattering or new, but its good to hear how and why changing your thoughts about a situation can change the situation. Good solid advice.
3 pages in I already highlighted things that stood out to me :)
Today is one of those evening, I NEED to read this! How many times do you reach out to books, just to get through some 'sad' moments in life? #BooksAreMySolace
