⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 this one had promise, but it just turned out to be incredibly disturbing.

This #ArmchairAudie title was beyond dull. I expect more out of something nominated for Suspense/Thriller. The narrator, whose name I keep forgetting, did nothing for it, either. I gave it 25%. It won't get my vote. I'm done.
The Short Drop wasn't a bad book, it's a serviceable thriller that I enjoyed but in the end it was forgettable. Gibson Vaugh is a likeable character but it's another case of an author telling you they're some brilliant progeny of social engineering but shows you him acting pretty dumb. The mystery plays out on the clever side of paint by numbers and the finale offers enough ingenuity to leave the reader satisfied that it was worth the effort.
Starting The Short Drop today....a little mystery and suspense for my Sunday
Finished this audiobook last night! This is not something I would normally read. I don't really like stories with politics. Growing up, my dad always wanted to get into heated debates with 13 year old me. He continued that throughout my teens. It really turned me off of politics. BUT, this book is a little politics, with a big mystery and characters you can't help but love! I even cried a little at the ending. 4/5 ⭐
It's raining!!! Rain is a great excuse for many things:
(1) I don't have to do my hair because it's just gonna frizz up and do what it wants.
(2) The tiny human naps better because it's darker.
(3) While the tiny human naps and instead of doing my hair, I get to sit on my porch swing and finish this audiobook.
Thursday, you're too good to me.
Started this one on audio this morning! I find that I'm much more productive if I have an audiobook to listen to. I got all excited about this one and decided to clean my kitchen and bathroom. I finished the kitchen, but halfway through the bathroom my Bluetooth headphones DIED. I can't listen without headphones because my baby is sleeping AND NOW I DON'T WANNA CLEAN ANYMORE. #whyme #melodramatic #dontcare
Tonight's #bookandabrew consists of A Short Drop (read on my Kindle for iPhone app so it couldn't be in the picture that I took with my iPhone, lol) and Samuel Adams Winter Lager. Now I just need some nachos and chicken wings and my night will be complete, lol. *drools Homer Simpson style* 📚🍺🐔😋
I ended up completely shirking Adult Things and finishing this book in a day and a half- I couldn't put it down! A murder-mystery rife with political conspiracies, elusive government agencies, personal agendas, but, above all, love for family.
