This book is about high school teacher kôhei inuzuka and his student, Kotori Iida, and his daughter, Tsumugi. They have been meeting up to cook together and build friendships between the three of them. If you like food and family, this is your read! This book is a Japanese style manga. My husband watched the anime series, and then he bought the mangas, so I just started reading them too. It‘s about a recent widower and his young daughter, Tsumugi. He wants to learn to cook for her, and he teams up with one of his high school students (whose mother owns a restaurant) to become a better cook and make Tsumugi happy. Food reminds them all of fond family memories, and they grow closer. Bonus: recipes with each chapter!

This manga series is so lovely!!! I can't help falling in love with our characters and the yummy food the prepare! You MUST check this out!

Oh boy this was a great step back into the mellow side of manga.
The character development is going at a nice pace, I like what I know so far about the five of them and there is plenty mystery ahead! 7/10
The story is nice and slow but not to slow, something I needed content-wise, and it is going in a good direction!! 9/10 and the art, normally I am very picky and critical but I am in love with this manga ka's style so I'm rating a 10/10 #manga

Sweetness & Lighting vol 1

Grieving, healing, and loving through cooking and eating food. This story makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside (and hungry), but I wouldn't be lying if I said it also has the potential to make me cry. I will definitely read the next volume. Plus, there are recipes at the end of each chapter 👍 😋 📚 ❤ 🍜
