The Wedding Chapel
The Wedding Chapel | Rachel Hauck

From New York Times bestselling author of The Wedding Dress comes The Wedding Chapel. A lonely wedding chapel built as a tribute to lost love just might hold the long-awaited secret to hope and reconciliation. For sixty years, the wedding chapel has stood silent and empty. Retired football hall-of-famer Jimmy Coach Westbrook built the chapel by hand, stone by stone, for his beautiful and beloved Collette Greer, whom he lost so many years ago. The chapel is a sanctuary for his memories, a monument to true love, and a testament to his survival of the deepest pain and loss. Photographer Taylor Branson left her hometown of Hearts Bend, Tennessee, to make a new life for herself in New York. She had lots to run away from, not least of all a family history of broken promises and broken dreams. Love catches Taylor off guard when she falls for Jack Forester, a successful advertising executive, and their whirlwind romance leads to an elopementthen to second guesses. Jack, in spite of his very real love for Taylor, is battling his own demons and struggles to show her his true self and the depths of his love for her. Taking a photography assignment in Hearts Bend, Taylor is thrown back into a past of family secrets buried deep beneath the sands of time. When Taylor and Coachs journeys collide, they each rediscover the heartbeat of their own dreams as they learn that the love they long to hold is well worth the wait.

Mehso-so

Honestly close to a pan. It was hard to bond with the Jimmy/Colette story when I knew from the beginning that they spend 60 years separated by misunderstanding. Taylor/Jack were more relatable, but SO bad at communicating! All in all, this was just a book with a down tone - not for me.

I would love to see the notes and drafts of how yet another title by Rachel Hauck can be so evolved; how the details come together seamlessly time after time to bring history and present day together in a story that simply can't be fiction. Amazing!

I've been plagued with a migraine for the last several days so thought I'd pull out some comfort, fiction reads while I have to be at work. Both of these authors I enjoy greatly -although I'd much rather be reading them at home curled up and comfy. Oh well.

Librarybelle Migraines are horrible...hope you feel relief soon! 7y

Enjoyed this. It was nice, sweet, simple and just enough faith based to feel good. It may have been a little slow but was overall very enjoyable.

Still laying in bed this cold Saturday am. #elvistheboston at the top of the pic had to have a 48 hour heart monitor put on Friday, he‘s not happy about it but we‘re trying to figure out why he‘s collapsing periodically. #harlietheboston is just being lazy with her mamma. Heading out in a bit for a little #Christmas shopping. 😝

Bookzombie I hope Elvis is okay. They are both so cute! 💕🐶🐶 7y
ApoptyGina69 I hope they figure out what‘s causing that. Kinda cool that you can monitor at home though. 🐶😍 7y
Bostonmomx2 @Bookzombie @ApoptyGina69 I took it off yesterday and fedexed it to the cardiology group. I hope to get results by end of the week. Thanks for your well wishes! 7y
