There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Turkey is a TL PB written by Lucille Colandro and illustrated by Jared Lee that I would use as a RA. I labeled this book as TL because I know it‘s a spin on the classic tale “There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly” which was a favorite of mine when I was younger. This one is obviously more seasonal. This is just a crazy, fun book that kids will have a good time listening to.
These books used to freak me out a bit, but my son loves them, so I've adjusted. There's lots of rhyming and ridiculousness in each one, which is fun. This one felt a bit disjointed to me, though. Colandro uses a bunch of things that are found at Thanksgiving to make a parade float, but the items aren't really connected to each other. Out of the Fall themes, I would recommend There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves instead.
My nephew's reading list. Ten books every week! 📚📚📚📚. Guess what he's getting for Christmas 🎅🏽🎄📚📚📚📚📚📚
