I am only on chapter 21 but I am enjoying this book very much as it relates to hockey and all the inspirational moments and stories the game holds. I find that each story told all have one thing in common or are somewhat related to each other. This would be a great book to read if you enjoy learning about the history of how hockey came to be today. 99 stories of the game is told from the narrator Wayne Gretzky who writes in third person omniscient

Ryan12345 The Author tells the stories of all the former players and their struggles and journeys they had to go through to play hockey. Wayne Gretzky tells the story from his point of view 4y

I am only on the 17th story, but so far I am really enjoying learning about the history of hockey. I think Kirstie McLellan Day did a great job of demonstrating the rush and thrill of winning the game. Myself being a hockey player I can relate to joys of playing the game and the bond you can create with teammates. The stories are told from a hockey legend Wayne Gretzky and his experience of playing the game.

Ryan12345 The motif of the story is how hockey fans can connect with the “Hard-nosed guys from small towns who took on the world and made their mark.” 4y
Ryan12345 This book would be a good read if you are into hockey and learning about the history of hockey 4y
MissYaremcio Nicely done Ryan! I'll have to tell you my family's connection to the Oilers some time! Are you an Oiler's fan? 6/6 4y

This book is based on stories that Wayne Gretzky thinks are important in hockey history. He talks about teams and players from the past but also talks about present players. If you like hockey/sport type books i recommend this to you!

Cfischbuch Good review. Pick a good story / chapter for me to try. 6y

My wonderful Litsy friends have been (so far) unaware of the fact that hockey rates the same as books to me 🤗 I've grown up (in Pittsburgh) as both a Pens and a Kings fan and tonight is the one time this season the Kings will be in town! Therefore, since I wear a Pens jersey to ever other game, i present to you my sacred Kings jersey as I prepare for this fine hockey evening ! 👍🏻👑💜

Wasn't what I expected, but still a good book. I expected personal Wayne stories, but it was more history of hockey with a few of Gretzky's thoughts thrown in. Informative and well written.

I needed a break from my other book, so, like always, I rely on a good hockey book to keep my mind focused. And what better book than 99: Stories of the Game by Wayne Gretzky!
I'll leave you with this quote, which sums up hockey culture best...
"The fact is, greatness is not captured in statistics. It's captured in stories."
