Found this one at work today but forgot to snap a pic. Will most likely buy this for the kid. #twentyeight #28 #NovemberByTheNumbers

I loved the poem pages the most and especially the one pictured above because of the format. Marian Anderson sang "My Country 'Tis of Thee" and the words "sweet land of liberty of thee I sing" run down the side of the page incorporated into the poem.

My #TBR pile is more like a "maybe" pile.
I'm working on reading immigration stories, but I think next I need an escapist read instead. I'm reading 6 books right now and can't focus on any of them!

Bkwurm Love the pile and the basket! If you decide on the immigration stories please share your favorites. I lean toward those and am always looking for new rec's. 🤓 8y
DebinHawaii I like the 'maybe pile' idea! 🤔📚👍😆 8y

BookInMyHands @DivineDiana I saw that and added it to my list yesterday, thanks! 8y
BookInMyHands @Bkwurm I've read a few good ones so far and I'm using #immigrationstories if you want to find them. 8y
BookInMyHands @DebinHawaii Thanks! I'm a really moody reader. 8y
DivineDiana Oh, great! The beginning covers lots of history and it can get a bit overwhelming with all the foreign names, but stick with it, and it will steal your heart. 📚❤️️ 8y
Bkwurm @DivineDiana & @BookInMyHands thanks for the suggestions! 8y

Growing up I learned about Dr. King once a year around his birthday. Just him, and just through the "I have a dream" lens.

This book presents 28 days of heroes of the Civil Rights Movement, starting with Crispus Attucks in 1770, including Dr King, and continuing forward to President Obama. The books ends with a call to action.

This is a perfect daily reader for February, and a good beginning for Civil Rights discussions with kids.

Littens, my tolerance/peace/diversity/kindness/community display at the children's library has been so popular. Our head librarian asked me to make a "carousel" for our catalog of it (so people can browse). Limited it to just picture books owned by my library and got a little picky...still came up with 108 items. #overit
