Hey hey classroom that needs funding. If you can toss some $ and/or signal boost 📡: https://www.donorschoose.org/project/culturally-relevant-classroom-library/27019...
I loved the poem pages the most and especially the one pictured above because of the format. Marian Anderson sang "My Country 'Tis of Thee" and the words "sweet land of liberty of thee I sing" run down the side of the page incorporated into the poem.
My #TBR pile is more like a "maybe" pile.
I'm working on reading immigration stories, but I think next I need an escapist read instead. I'm reading 6 books right now and can't focus on any of them!

Growing up I learned about Dr. King once a year around his birthday. Just him, and just through the "I have a dream" lens.
This book presents 28 days of heroes of the Civil Rights Movement, starting with Crispus Attucks in 1770, including Dr King, and continuing forward to President Obama. The books ends with a call to action.
This is a perfect daily reader for February, and a good beginning for Civil Rights discussions with kids.
Littens, my tolerance/peace/diversity/kindness/community display at the children's library has been so popular. Our head librarian asked me to make a "carousel" for our catalog of it (so people can browse). Limited it to just picture books owned by my library and got a little picky...still came up with 108 items. #overit
