This was a pretty good collection of stories set in Baltimore. I especially liked the ones that take place in areas I‘m familiar with. Very detailed and well written.

As is often the case with short story collections, this is a mixed bag. Some are riveting, emotional, well-written masterpieces. Others are disappointing, boring, and feel like wastes of precious reading time. The rest fall somewhere in between. “Liminal” by Joseph Wallace was probably my favorite. If you know nothing about the city, though, you‘d think it was almost exclusively baseball (Go Orioles!) and the “Homicide” TV show. 🙄
When your #currentread mentions one of your favorite nonfiction books, which also happens to be the basis for one of your favorite television dramas 😍
Sneaking some reading on my phone while I wait for the last hour of my work day to drag by. If the short stories in this collection are half as good as Laura Lippman‘s foreword, I am in for a treat!
Hoping to finish this book today. #librarianlunch
Every year my parents get each of us kids chocolate covered cherries. They make a great breakfast 😉
