This book has a slow beginning, the main character was two dimensional and I was not very interested in the story. I did really appreciate that the author didn‘t spend a lot of time trying to explain the history and mythology, which made the book more enjoyable. The narrators accent was good, as was her pronunciation. 2/5 stars. Being the next host for the goddess is all she‘s ever dreamed of, until she reads an old book and meets a kitsune.
Instagram kept bugging me about this book and pegged as it as a cross between Inuyasha and Kamisama Kiss (two of my favorite series) so I had to look into it. Not to trivialize the plot and characters but if you‘re a fan of the enemies-to-lovers trope, this is it.
Red Wine 🍷 hot chocolate. Nothing sounds bad about that. Add a book and a furry companion and you have near perfection.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I really enjoyed this one. Young Adult Fantasy based on Japanese Mythology. Something new and different. I loved immersing myself into an unknown world. Well written and a brilliant start to a hopefully equally as brilliant trilogy.
