#OnThisDay in 1493 the Liber Chronicarum was first published in Nuremberg. Colloquially known as The Nuremberg Chronicle the incunabulum was one of the first printed works (in the Western world) to include illustrations and is one of the best documented early printed works. Originally written in Latin, it was soon followed by a German translation. An unusually large number survive to date, about 800 Latin and 400 German copies. #HistoryGetsLIT
