I will check out virtually any book that is a Jane Eyre retelling. Some are great, some are slogs. This one falls solidly in the great column. It twists the story and plot points in really clever ways while being original enough that I wasn't able to tell where it was going. Also, it's included for free with Audible memberships. Gotta love free books!

❐ Overall Rating 4 | Narration 4½
I was surprised actually by how much I liked this. I really enjoyed the creep factor with the ghostly mystery, the fish-out-of-water feel, and the low-key romance. The blurb makes it sound like it has a love triangle...but I don‘t think it‘s like that. I've never read Jane Eyre and I don't think it's necessary to have done so to enjoy this, it may have been why I liked it, even.

Our reviewer had this to say about this new imagining of a classic Victorian romance novel, "Gagnon adds [an] edginess and unrelenting pace to #UnearthlyThings Without being familiar with #JaneEyre readers will still enjoy the supernatural aspects and the gripping entanglements of this young girl‘s situation." If you love Jane Eyre, we highly recommend you check out this ? from #SohoTeen #SohoPress

A very suspenseful story inspired by Jane Eyre. This one kept me on the edge of my seat and was very fast paced.

Don't be fooled by the meager stack, these are just the immediate must reads in the TBR (the Michelle Gagnon is on the Nook with a zillion others). #24in48 is #catsoflitsy approved :)
