pickI‘m glad that I finally got around to reading The Apology. It is a relatively easy read, but has some heavyweight ideas... ideas like the truly wise man is the one who knows he knows nothing and that the unexamined life is not worth living. The circumstances surrounding the arguments was pretty clear from the text, but if you‘re not familiar you may want to read a bit on the trial and execution of Socrates for context.
